James R. Watson receives Honorary Doctorate from California State University, San Bernardino
In recognition of Mr. Watson’s many accomplishments and extensive contributions to the university and the community, the Board of Trustees of the California State University, San Bernardino conferred upon James R. Watson the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters in June 2010.

Judy Rodriguez Public Art Project
In 2010, CSUSB named its four-year old public art program the Judy Rodriguez Public Art Project in honor of her passion and financial support for placing art in open spaces at California State University, San Bernardino and the surrounding community.
Watson and Associates Literacy Center at CSUSB
The Watson and Associates Literacy Center was funded by a generous grant from Jim and Judy Watson to California State University, San Bernardino . It opened its doors in 2004. The mission of the Literacy Center is to assist students, grades kindergarten through 12, to improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The importance of Literacy has a special place in Jim Watson’s heart as he personally struggled with reading at the age of 6. Jim and Judy Watson have contributed close to $1 million dollars toward the Watson & Associates Literacy Center over the past 10 years.

CSUSB Award (Dec. 2014)
Jim and Judy Watson were honored and recognized by President Tomás Morales and the Philanthropic Board for their ongoing leadership on CSUSB’s Philanthropic Foundation Board.

The San Bernardino Symphony honored Jim and Judy Watson with their most prestigious honor, The Golden Baton, for their continuous sponsorship.
Philanthropist of the Year – Association of Fundraising Professionals Inland Empire
The Inland Empire Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals presented Jim and Judy Watson with their Philanthropist of the Year award on November 15, 2012. Jim and Judy were selected due to their contributions and generosity to CSUSB and surrounding communities.
